Washington D.C.’s cherry blossoms are in bloom and the city’s annual Cherry Blossom Festival is in full swing. This time each year, thousands flock to the nation’s capital to take part in the event. Last year, I wasn’t able to make it to D.C, but to my delight I discovered a similar festival was taking place in my very own neighborhood at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. While researching for my post about the festival’s history, I was surprised to learn that many states celebrate their own version of the cherry blossom festival throughout the spring months (check out the post and find a festival near you, here).
Below are a few photos of the blooms from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden that will hopefully inspire you to pay a visit to a cherry blossom festival near you. Enjoy and happy spring!
