Prior to my trip to Armenia, I was anticipating steamy desert temperatures and planned to pack flowy dresses, cute skirts and boho pants. Imagine my shock when I did a quick search of the weather and discovered it would in fact be in the 30’s and 40’s throughout our stay! Needless to say, I had to switch out my cute warm weather clothes for winter wear. If you’re planning an Armenian adventure between October through February, below are some style ideas (including alternative options at varying price points) to help you pack for Armenia in the winter!

Chances are if you visit Aremnia, you’re going to spend some time in the capital city of Yerevan. There is a ton to see and do there from perusing the sculpture park, shopping along Tashir Street or perhaps taking a tour of the Ararat Museum inside the famous cognac distillery. However you spend your day in the city, you’ll want to look effortlessly fabulous. Just add that pop of red to your lips as a final touch, and you’re ready to go!

After running around the city, you may be ready for a low key day. I was happy to spend a day with friends at one of Armenia’s most famous restaurants, Baklachoff. We quite literally spent hours there and waves of friends would join us throughout the day. We had various rounds of Armenian delicacies including appetizers, main dishes, desserts and of course, cognac! I left stuffed, but was happy to have a day of relaxation before our road trip to Jermuk the following day.

One of the highlights of our Armenian adventure was our road trip to Jermuk, a city famous for its healing mineral springs and numerous health and wellness spas. Along the way, we stopped at two of Armenia’s ancient monasteries, Khor Virap and Noravank. We explored the ancient ruins and marveled at the mountain views. Along our route, we also stopped at a roadside market to pick up some fruit and local wine. Our day culminated with a ride up a ski lift to a mountaintop café where we warmed up with hot soup and some celebratory shots of vodka. I was glad I was properly bundled for our adventurous day outdoors!

A NIGHT OUT:
Outfit details: Sequin cutout dress / black point collar cape / high heeled booties / crystal ear cuffs / black box clutch with crystal detail / Rodin lip color
Before my trip, I knew very little about Armenia, the people or the culture, except what I had learned from the Kardashians. Embarrassing, I know! I envisioned glamorous women glittering with jewelry and wrapped in furs. Of course not everyone was dressed this way, but I encountered many beautiful women who were dressed to impress, particularly when headed for a night out. Our main event was attending our friend’s wedding- A 14 hour affair with multiple wardrobe changes. For the reception, I opted for a black backless jumpsuit, pumps, a black clutch and a faux fur shrug, but the option above would have been my choice for a slightly less formal event, perhaps at one of Yerevan’s many night clubs!
